Owen Coyle is relishing the Carling Cup tie against Arsenal at Turf Moor next month.

The Clarets earned a plum tie in their first quarter final tie in 25 years by humbling Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in midweek.

Coyle followed that by masterminding the Championship win at QPR that hoisted his side to fourth in the table.

And the gaffer insisted the league win gave him more enjoyment than taking a notable Premier League scalp in cup competition.

He said: "First and foremost it's great that we are talking about being in the last eight of the Carling Cup.

"It's a fantastic draw and I am absolutely delighted, The last time I asked for a home draw, we got Chelsea away, so to play Arsenal is a great reward!

"They have been playing their kids in this competition, but as much as they are called kids, I think they play with all the game awareness and experienced of international players.

"So if that's the team that comes to Turf Moor, then it is a great game for Burnley Football Club to look forward to.

"We will give everything we've got when it comes about, but we've got some big, big games before then."

Coyle, whose side came from behind for the second time in a week to win at Loftus Road, through goals from Robbie Blake and Alan Mahon, added: "This might sound bizarre, but I took more enjoyment from the QPR result than Chelsea.

"It was so important to me to show that we didn't go to Stamford Bridge and win by accident.

"What this (QPR) does is helps you enjoy more what you did during the week and it certainly would have let a sour taste in my mouth if we hadn't won after the midweek result.

"It would have been an even better week if we had taken a positive from Wolves.

"I certainly don't forget these things and I haven't forgotten the first two results of the season against Sheffield Wednesday and Ipswich because they were hurtful.

"But we have managed to turn it around and that is through hard work on the training ground.

"That's what it takes in the Championship and hopefully the fans back home will have taken a big lift from this result.

"We have cemented a place in that top six and now we have to go and look forward to the games coming and try to get the points that will keep us in there."
