Burnley winger Steve Jones is to join Bradford City on loan until January.

The Northern Ireland international has yet to make an appearance for the Clarets this season and has just returned from a spell on loan with Huddersfield Town.

Manager Owen Coyle said: "There will be no additions to the squad. But Steve Jones will go on loan to Bradford until January 3.

"He came back from Huddersfield yesterday, where obviously, with Stan Ternent leaving, I've got to say I don't think he was treated particularly well.

"I have spoken to Stuart McCall, who has got on very well with Steve. He is a top lad, so Steve will go there and get some games, get fully fit and hopefully score some goals to give him a lift."

National newspaper reports had suggested that starlet Alex MacDonald might be loaned out in similar circumstances to Jay Rodriquez, who enjoyed a spell with Stirling last season.

However, Coyle revealed: "We've had a couple of enquiries, but we don't have a big enough squad to be letting players out anyway.

Due to finances there will be nobody coming in either. Like other managers you would love to freshen up the squad, but circumstances are circumstances, so we get on with things and do the very best we can."
